Upgrade from old major version to the latest major version instructions

For example, you purchased an upgrade from old major version Lite license to the latest major version Lite license.
After purchase of the upgrade you received registration key by email.
For example, the old major version is 9 and the latest major version is 10.

You purchased upgrade from lite version 9 into lite version 10.
Thus you need to download the latest version 10 from our web site.
Then you need to install version 10.
Then register version 10 with purchased registration key.
After that activate it.

Then you need to copy database and configuration files from version 9 folder:
\My Documents\Abacre Restaurant Point of Sale 9\
to version 10 folder:
\My Documents\Abacre Restaurant Point of Sale 10\

Note: this is not Program Files folder (where only executable files are located). In your Windows press Start button in bottom-left corder - go to Computer. Then go to Documents. Inside you will see subfolders:

• Abacre Restaurant Point of Sale 9
• Abacre Restaurant Point of Sale 10

Then start version 10.
On Login window press More button and verify that path to database is pointing to correct database file. For example, if in version 9 Login window you see arpos-test.fdb as database file (only database file without any path to it) then in version 10 Login window you just leave arpos-test.fdb as it is. It will automatically search for arpos-test.fdb database file in folder of version \My Documents\Abacre Restaurant Point of Sale 10\
That's all.

Before doing the actions above you may backup the folder of previous major version:

\My Documents\Abacre Restaurant Point of Sale 9\

After you see the version 10 works fine you may uninstall old version 9 using Windows Control Panel - Uninstall Program. And then even delete the folder with database and configuration files of old version:

\My Documents\Abacre Restaurant Point of Sale 9\
