Menu Item with Multiple Categories

I need to set menu items with multiple categories to enable the sale of say a bottle of Tonic on its' own and as part of a Gin & Tonic. I cannot use one menu item to solve this but if I use 2 menu items ie, tonic1 & tonic 2 then I have to order and manage stock for two items which are the same. Any ideas??
