For example you have www.yourcompany.com site. You want that visitors of this site or your colleagues were able to see stats about the site. How can you do that?
Your may create new web site directory, for example, /stats/ and then your visitors will be able to see reports from IE using the URL: www.yourcompany.com/stats/
In order to make reports available at www.yourcompany.com/stats/ you should know where ALA is installed:
Let's consider both cases. Note in both cases you make program running in automatic, scheduled mode. So both processes are completely automatic and no manual work needed after ALA is installed.
First case: ALA is installed on the same computer where your web server is running. By default program is installed into c:\Program Files\Advanced Log Analyzer\ and it produces reports into ala_out folder ( c:\Program Files\Advanced Log Analyzer\ala_out ). So you may rename ala_out folder into stats. Then on Sites tab of ALA in Output path field (check See Advanced Options) you choose c:\Program Files\Advanced Log Analyzer\stats on output folder. Then in IIS server configuration you may add stats as virtual directory with path to it: c:\Program Files\Advanced Log Analyzer\stats. After this virtual directory added, it will be available at www.yourcompany.com/stats/
As second variant, for example, your web server pages are located at:
C:\Inetpub\yourcompany.com\wwwroot
So you just create subfolder stats: C:\Inetpub\yourcompany.com\wwwroot\stats and on Sites tab of ALA in Output path field (check See Advanced Options) you choose C:\Inetpub\yourcompany.com\wwwroot\stats on output folder. That's all.
Second case: ALA is installed on different computer.
By default program is installed into c:\Program Files\Advanced Log Analyzer\ and it produces reports into ala_out folder ( c:\Program Files\Advanced Log Analyzer\ala_out ).
Normally you upload web pages to your web site by ftp client program. So what should you do: using ftp client you create stats directory on your web site. Then you use specialized ftp clients running in scheduled mode for automatic uploading of reports from ( c:\Program Files\Advanced Log Analyzer\ala_out into www.yourcompany.com/stats/.
For that purpose you may use our Abacre Web Site Uploader. Read more for details.
