Replace function not working in Trial Version

I am trying to replace a date in MS Excel 2007. The find function finds the date OK, but when I run the replace feature, it returns "Found 0 of 28 files". I have .xls as the mask. I check to make sure the "Replace in MS Office files" is checked in the options section.
Any suggestions?

I have the same issue, but with a purchased version.. played with all options. No dice. What gives?

dear ppl
one possibility perhaps applicable to either of your cases : it is necessary also to change a setting in Excel before AFR has access - Help : FAQ : How to search and replace in Microsoft Excel macros?
Also in my limited experience the file must not be open in Excel , I closed Excel rather than just the single file so I do not know which it is .

also send us your default.cfg file or explain what exactly do you want to replace.
